Magnolia Inn

Jorge at the front desk was great and really helpful. The rooms are dated, but clean, and the ice machine is outside. Apparently, this is where all the watermelon pickers stay.

We picked this place because dogs are allowed, but the gross conditions seemed to come from the people staying there and the owners' lack of upkeep, not from dogs. I had to walk past empty beer bottles all the way up the stairs to our room. The wallpaper was peeling at every seam, and the whole room looked like it needed a thorough bleach cleaning. ❤️ My review if it's helpful.

Both rooms were very hot because the AC wasn't running, and it took hours for them to cool down. In one room, there was blood on the sheets and fresh urine on the toilet seat. The other had dead bugs in one bed and bedbugs in the other. They tore up my legs and arms, then came home in my travel bag. The treatment meant a costly medical bill, plus expensive bedbug killer for my house. A horrible experience. I'll never stay there again, and next time I'd rather sleep in my car.

We stayed the first night because we couldn't get our money refunded, then left for somewhere else the next day. We had to switch rooms because the first one looked like rats had literally been sleeping in the beds. In the second room, the linens were dirty, there was a big hole in the shower ceiling, and we had to cover the chairs with towels before sitting on them. The AC blew the curtains up so much that we had to hold them down with an object. The pool looked abandoned. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at.
