Blue Spruce Inn

I travel most of the month and stay in plenty of branded hotels, and Blue Spruce held its own against many of them. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The bed could use some attention, though I still slept well. Breakfast had the usual hotel choices, but the food was quite good. Even the scrambled eggs weren't watery, which is a big plus in my book.

We stayed all three nights because they welcome pets, though the worn, sagging beds left my back sore after the first day. The price also seemed high compared with other hotels nearby and some much classier places I've stayed for less. On the plus side, the service was great, and the hot breakfast was very good for a hotel. The potatoes were nicely seasoned, and the sausage and eggs had more flavor than the bland, rubbery eggs you often get. The shower had such strong pressure that it practically blasted you out. I loved it, though anyone trying to conserve water might not. There was no coffee in the rooms or available all day, and the lobby computer was useless for office work. I couldn't get a browser to open, and restarting it took ten minutes.

We were in Meeker overnight, and this inviting little local hotel was a convenient place to stay. I'd happily come back for the hot coffee in the morning and the complimentary breakfast, which were both really good.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the towels were soft. Pioneers Medical Center is nearby.
