I went there to relax, not sightsee. I’ve lived in Memphis and don’t think there’s much to see. The shop itself was nice, with huge fish and a lot to look at inside. I didn’t try the food because it seemed overpriced and the reviews said it wasn’t worth it. I booked the Duck Lodge, which gave us the whole cabin area. The room was rustic, and it confirmed I prefer a more modern look, though I liked the little trinkets that fit the theme. Our interior was cleaned poorly: there was popcorn on the floor and some kind of bag in a drawer. The shower and tub were amazing, and the free snacks and water were a nice touch. The staff were nice, though one employee was a bit too flirtatious for my taste. A few guests walked onto the deck, which was annoying, since it wasn’t clear enough that the area was private. The TV kept cutting out during shows, and only about three channels worked, so we streamed movies on a laptop instead. It was definitely overpriced, but I got a good special. Would I stay again? Maybe, if there’s another special.

We stayed March 7-8 for my son’s 12th birthday, and it was amazing. We’re seasonal hunters, so this place was right up our alley. The room had great decor and an interior balcony that we loved. The hot tub was a hit, and the snacks were tasty. I’ll definitely come back!

On our cross-country trip, we stayed one night, and it was a lot of fun. The rooms are unusual and entertaining, with huge bathrooms and showers. We had a balcony overlooking the aquariums and store, and the rooftop view and restaurant were amazing. Worth a one-night stay for the experience.

We’d been coming here on every Memphis visit for the past decade, but the drop in service and quality is hard to miss. We usually reserve an interior resort view King room through Expedia. This time, several lamps and lights, plus the TV, didn’t work in the room we’d booked and paid for. We called maintenance, but nobody came. After asking the front desk again, they said they’d send someone. A full day passed, and only after we went back yet again did maintenance come up. They said the electrical problems couldn’t be fixed and offered to move us. We packed everything, changed rooms and unpacked again. The replacement room was less spacious and didn’t have the same amenities, including the large shower and bathroom. We accepted that, but at checkout they charged us more for the inferior room they had moved us into. They also charged resort fees and parking twice, once for each room. When we called, they acknowledged the upcharge and said they’d look into it, but that a refund would take several days. I’d strongly recommend booking somewhere else. The location has always felt sketchy, but the service and amenities used to outweigh that. With the decline in customer service, it’s no longer worth the price.

The surroundings, views and look of the place were beautiful. We were fairly pleased overall and would go back, but the bed and shower weren’t to our liking. Some things near our room were unavailable: the ice machine was out of order, and there was no microwave. We were told maintenance would bring one, but that never happened.
