Extended Stay America Memphis - Apple Tree

We just needed somewhere to rest for a few hours before continuing our trip, but the room had a rat trap as soon as we walked in. The carpet was badly stained too. I slept in my clothes and was afraid to use the bathroom in the dark. Shut this place down or stop presenting it with nicer photos.

I’d heard negative things before arriving, but that wasn’t my experience. Mya has gone out of her way for me and other people, and I have a wonderful room. Whenever I ask for something, they do their best to help. When I was in the hospital, they checked on me. I feel welcome and safe here, and my family thanks everyone for being so kind. I’d recommend this place to others. We love you all 😁😁💯💟

Like the other ESA I reviewed near the Memphis airport, this place is worn out and needs a lot of maintenance. On Saturday I reported two problems: the toilet seat had only one bolt, so it shifted while I was sitting, and the hasp that secures the door had been sheared off, leaving only the hinge on the frame. I don’t know how that happened, but it needed replacing. They said I’d have to wait until Monday, and I guess that was okay, though I don’t see why I should pay full price without full use of the room. On Sunday and Monday the front desk woman said the repairs were on the list. It wasn’t until Tuesday, after I asked what was taking so long, that maintenance came. The maintenance guy was pleasant and did an adequate job. I didn’t report the smell until checkout. There was a funk when I first entered the room, maybe old cigar or incense, but it wasn’t like cigarette smoke or the sweet smell of weed. I regularly smelled weed in the common hallways, though, despite it being a non-smoking hotel. The whole property needs an upgrade and more frequent garbage pickup. The carpets were stained, the fridge dirty, the furniture beat up, and trash piled up quickly in the stairways.

After being displaced from our home just two weeks before Christmas, my son and I found this place to be a real blessing. We arrived to a clean, safe, peaceful environment, and I haven’t had any complaints during my stay. It feels secure and family friendly, which gave me peace of mind as a mother. Jerrica warmly showed me around and helped me pick the right room for us. Erika is a fantastic manager who leads with care and professionalism, and Craig is always smiling, cleaning, and ready to help. The property is well maintained, and the staff made us feel supported and comfortable. I’m deeply grateful for how kind they’ve been to my family and would absolutely recommend this Extended Stay America, especially to families needing a welcoming, safe place. Thanks to Erika, Jerrica, Craig, Theresa, and maintenance.
