Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis-Beale Street

The room was clean, the sheets felt fresh, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was free and amazing, too. On my first trip to Memphis, I was glad I picked this place. The garage has access from the hotel entrance or the street, and the parking price was reasonable. Beale Street is right outside, with everything there easy to reach on foot.

The staff were the best part, and breakfast was good. My room looked clean, but the building had a lingering odor, including on my floor, and I actually sprayed perfume on the bed to sleep. The elevators felt rickety and old, with dated buttons and unflattering paint. It all gave me creepy vibes, so I won’t stay here again. There was also a strange key incident. After breakfast my digital key stopped working, and the front desk resent it without any trouble. On my way back upstairs, I saw a woman in a yellow top at my door trying to unlock it with her key. When she noticed me, she backed away nervously and said, “Try your key maybe it will work.” I used mine and thanked her, but felt very uncomfortable. No one had told me someone would come to open my door. If that was done without my consent, it was incredibly unprofessional. I was left wondering why she was trying to get into my room, and felt borderline unsafe. I travel pretty frequently and haven’t felt this uncomfortable at a hotel before.

John at the front desk was wonderful. He could give us all the information we needed, and every hotel could use someone like him. Ashley made breakfast around 6:30am feel cheerful, serving everyone with so much warmth and helpfulness that she brightened our day. Our family really appreciated them both. The views were beautiful and the amenities were fabulous. We stayed one night on vacation, right by Beale Street. The hotel warns that music can be heard through the night, but we were on the sixth floor and didn’t hear loud noise. Earplugs were provided in the room. We’ll come back.

Ashley and the breakfast crew made mornings especially nice. They were friendly and attentive, and the area stayed spotless and well stocked. You could see the care they put into the complimentary breakfast. Parking was attached to the hotel, which was convenient in any weather, though it cost $20. Sharon and Amy welcomed us warmly at the front desk from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom and large walk-in shower. The beds were soft, with fluffy pillows, and we slept well. The Hampton Inn & Suites on Beale Street exceeded our expectations. It’s comfortable, welcoming, and right in the middle of everything, and I’d recommend it.
