Red Roof Inn Memphis East

Just before midnight on the 13th into the 14th, I stopped looking for somewhere clean and free of smells, after already leaving two messes. I only needed somewhere decent, nothing fancy. When I asked the man at the entrance what would happen if there was a problem with the room, he got angry, yelled and cursed at me, and said they didn’t need customers like me. He kept ordering me to leave and not come back while I tried to explain. I’ve never felt so insulted and disgusted by someone’s behavior. It’s a tight area, and in my opinion the hotels and motels are being bought by people who don’t value the kind of cleaning we expect in a motel room. The whole stop was so difficult it made me wish I hadn’t bothered. He needs to be fired. I’ll never stop there again.

I came in to pay for my reservation for 12/26-12/28/25, and the tall older man with gray hair started talking down to me as if I were a criminal. He called me dumb and stupid and used the phrase “you people.” That was ignorant, especially when he’s in the same category of “you people.” His behavior was disgusting and completely unprofessional. He shouldn’t be dealing with the public. His visa needs to be revoked.

We changed rooms, but the next one had the same problems: dead roaches, black mold in the bathroom ceiling and floor, and a cracking ceiling. The hotel was poorly lit at night, and it felt unsafe as well as filthy. We checked in last Friday, and this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t go here.

There were stains everywhere, more than five roaches, and dead ones stuck to the wall. The tub was dirty, the door locks were broken, and the TV wouldn’t change channels. They should tear the whole place down. Absolutely stay away.
