The property roads were in poor shape at best. It rained a lot, and most of them were flooded or washed out. There wasn’t anywhere in the cabin to store clothes, though the cabin itself was a little bigger than I expected and better than expected overall. It had a decent, if incomplete, supply of usable tools, silverware, and plates for cooking and eating. Two hot plates and an outdoor propane BBQ gave us a fair amount of ability to cook for ourselves. We traveled with a partner and pets on Feb 26, 2026, with one dog and one cat in the cabin, within the two-pet limit. The price was not bad, and the “rangers” working the guard entrance were helpful. Cleanliness was a positive; the property conditions and facilities were a negative.

The bathrooms were clean, and the showers had great water pressure. Each stall had a door, plus a bench set apart by a shower curtain, so I could keep my dry clothes protected while showering. There were a few hooks too, but my bag was heavy, so I left it on the bench. Every RV lot seemed to have a picnic table, and we ate dinner at ours. My husband and I stayed three nights after running the Tough Mudder on March 21st. Check-in was prompt, finding our lot was easy, and checkout was a breeze. We walked around and saw cute ducks, geese, and even a white heron. People out walking dogs were friendly and said hello. We also went to the pool and one of the two hot tubs. We watched the sunset in the hotter one, and several others joined us. They all seemed to know each other, a tight-knit community. We had a great time and looked forward to our nightly sunset soak before the hot tub closed at 9 p.m.

The family atmosphere made Wilderness Lakes Thousand Trails RV Park especially fun. Kids zipped around on E-bikes laughing and playing, while the “grown-up kids” followed in golf carts covered in bright LED lights. It was a joyful sight, and felt like a great setting for families and RV enthusiasts. We felt safe thanks to the friendly park rangers patrolling the grounds. Erma, Adam, and Mike were warm, attentive, and helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The housekeeping team also deserves credit for keeping the restrooms, showers, and other facilities spotless, while staff kept the grounds looking pristine. Our spacious RV site was in a prime spot, with easy access to pools, BBQ grills, laundry rooms, restrooms, and showers. The automated Amazon package drop-off area was a handy modern touch. My husband, Jason Casillas, and I, Michele Casillas, had a fantastic stay and can’t say enough good things. We’re already looking forward to coming back, and highly recommend the park for an RV camping trip. Warm regards, Michele & Jason Casillas

The park is very well maintained, and the real wildlife is a plus. Unfortunately, there are lots of small feral children running around without adult supervision on electric bikes. It’s scary to watch.

I wake up early and want to use the gym and hot tub before it gets too hot or sunny, but the amenities don’t open until 9 a.m. The gym should open at 6 a.m., and the hot tub too. They sit empty until nine while nobody can use them. What’s the point of making us wait? There’s duck and goose poop everywhere, including the basketball courts, mini golf course, and grassy areas. I walked my dog along the water and about 15 different species of birds, geese, and ducks attacked us. They were laying eggs and went after my poor little dog anytime she came within 20 feet of one of those stupid prehistoric flamingo birds. It’s an awesome campground, but those amenities are lame. There are hundreds of new homes being built next door, so enjoy the park while you can. Come for the wilderness lakes, stay for the goose poop.
