Best Western Plus Menomonie Inn & Suites

The beds were fine and my room was clean. I was there on a weekday, so I didn't hear the loud pool noise other people have mentioned. For the price, it's a good value. The continental breakfast was disappointing, though there are places very close by to get breakfast if you want. I'd definitely come back.

The room itself wasn't awful, though the toilet had a huge rust ring around the bowl. What really made this stay miserable was the service. We arrived at 3:30 in the morning, tired from driving trucks, and the sleepy attendant gave rude, vague answers. When we asked for a 1 p.m. checkout instead of noon, she immediately said no. I also asked about my rewards discount and was brushed off, told I would have to wait until 3 p.m. to check in to use it, even though it was already 3:30 a.m. We stayed anyway. She said breakfast was from 6 to 10, but when we went down at 9:30 the food was gone. She yelled that during the week they stop at 9:30 and to read the sign. The cleaning staff were sitting there eating what was left. As we left at 11:45, the housekeeper told us to get all our stuff because checkout time had arrived. I said good morning politely, and she replied, “afternoon.” I might think the rudeness was racial because I'm a person of color, but they were rude to everyone, not just me. Another man downstairs in the breakfast area was also complaining about how they'd treated him. Customer service may not matter to them, but it matters to me when I'm spending my hard-earned money.

We had a great stay. The room was clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly. A real bonus was being able to use the pool until midnight, which gave the kids plenty of time to unwind after a busy travel day. I'd highly recommend it.

The lobby looked lovely, was very clean, and smelled fresh. Our room was clean too, and the bed was really comfortable. There were lots of breakfast choices, the food was plentiful, and the area was kept tidy. Every staff member we met was pleasant and checked in with us about our stay. I'd definitely stay again.
