I couldn’t sleep because there was loud arguing and noise until 3 AM. I didn’t feel safe at all, and the stay was really unpleasant. The room was extremely uncomfortable, with pillows that felt like plastic, and nothing seemed to work properly. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t be coming back.

The property’s U shape seemed to shield it from the neighborhood, which was quiet, and I felt very safe. Nearby restaurants and a couple of convenience stores were handy. The room was clean enough, though I wouldn’t go barefoot because the floors could’ve been cleaner. The TV, outlets, AC, and lights all worked, and there was no smoke smell, which pleasantly surprised me. They charged only the booking amount, with nothing extra. The pool was out of service, and I didn’t shower, so I don’t know about the hot water. I did find one cockroach in the shower, killed it, and saw no others. The toilet seat was cracked and could easily be replaced. There was a fridge that looked clean, and a very old microwave I didn’t use or check. I’d stay again if I needed to.

The clerk told me at the desk that canceling wouldn’t be a problem and I could work it out through the booking site. But when the third party followed up, the clerk, who I believe was the new owner, refused to honor the cancellation or refund. The owner later emailed saying they’d give a partial refund, but it was never processed. Very dishonest ownership. I booked through a third-party site after my original reservation was canceled, and regretted it. The room smelled stale, like it had been wiped with an old rag, and there was a bug. It was stuffy and hot, and the AC was loud and didn’t work properly. The beds looked neatly made and maintained, though the white sheet showing still looked a little dingy despite the bed clearly having been cleaned. Between the room conditions and the way the cancellation was handled, I strongly recommend avoiding this motel. Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere.

Don’t stay here. The other room had no water, and there was only one bath towel. Maybe that was because they knew the shower didn’t work. The sheets were disgustingly dirty, with brown marks, and I was told it was the front desk’s job and would be dealt with in the morning. There were cockroaches in the room and spiders on the ceiling. How can they call themselves Wyndham or be part of this group? They should be cast aside immediately. Worst stay I’ve ever had. Pick somewhere else.

We left as soon as we woke up because the conditions were unbearable. I know this is a budget two-star property, but the basic standards still weren’t met. The shower didn’t work at all, and a damaged sink pipe leaked onto the floor while the sink also drained poorly. The towels were visibly dirty. The hairdryer holder was broken, so the dryer kept falling when we tried to use it. When we attempted to report these problems, reception was closed and no one could help. The experience at Travelodge by Wyndham Merced Yosemite was far below acceptable.
