The rooms were clean and the property itself is nice, but the air conditioning was a problem both nights. Even on the highest setting, it switched itself on and off whenever it wanted, and I was sweating. I also called the day before checkout and spoke with the manager, Jamar, about leaving late. He said noon was fine, and I agreed. A little after 11 the next morning, while I was in the shower, he tried to get into my room and banged on the door. I hurried out to speak through it. He told me checkout was at 11 and that I needed to leave. I reminded him I'd spoken with him the day before, and recognized his very distinct voice. He said they had to clean the rooms and there was no late checkout noted on my account, as if that should be my problem. Then he walked away while I was still trying to talk to him. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. If they agree to a late checkout, make sure it's written on your account, or they may pound on your door at checkout time.

After driving for 13 hours, I couldn't figure out the room door. Jamar was patient and kind while helping me sort it out. The room was clean, I wasn't disturbed, and the AC was great.

There's plenty of good stuff near this location. First watch is a cute brunch spot, and black rock coffee is pretty delicious. The only issue for us was the AC. It would come on randomly, and when we tried to turn it off, it wouldn't respond, though it did shut off after a few minutes. Still, not a bad place.

We only needed a place to sleep after a wedding at Superstition Manor, then drive a couple of hours home the next day. These rooms are set up for longer stays, with a full refrigerator. The AC wasn't great and there was a bit of a weird smell, but it was comfortable enough for one short night.

The front desk staff were rude on the phone and at check-in. Whenever I asked something, they sent me back to my third party booking site. Then when I raised my experience with that site, the hotel was suddenly unhappy that I hadn't spoken to them. The AC barely works, so expect to sweat all night even in winter. Please don't stay here. A hotel 6 would be nicer, but better yet, spend a little more and book the Renaissance next door.
