SureStay Plus by Best Western Mesa Superstition Springs

Brianna was the bright spot. Her positive, incredibly sweet nature made every time I passed reception a nice experience. The room was okay, but expensive. Breakfast was better than I usually expect, though the woman in charge had a sour attitude and never seemed to have enough hot additions out, so it was hard to put together a decent hot meal. The pool area was full of mosquitoes or biting flies.

The best part of my double room on the first floor near the front desk was the TV placement. I could watch it in the shower and see it in the mirror at the sink. The shower itself was very nice, and I appreciated the no smoking and no pets rules. The room was clean and new, with good amenities including a coffee machine, but far too expensive even with a discount. I arrived quite late from the airport, through no fault of the hotel, and asked for late checkout. I got half an hour, while guests who checked in just after me got more time, as I saw. At 11:18 AM, with 12 minutes left and while I was just out of the shower getting ready to leave, the front desk called to give me a heads-up. I only saw the female manager talking to employees and didn't meet her. My room was too close to the laundry service area, employees were talking loudly before 11 AM, and there was no view.

The front desk woman, Shelby, was friendly and cordial whenever I came or went. There was also a very large man at the desk who never spoke or greeted me. The hotel felt rundown, and the rooms weren't very soundproof. At least they had wood floors instead of carpet. I probably won't stay again.

We needed an inexpensive place near the Mesa airport before our flight home, and it was serviceable for that. The room seemed clean at first and smelled nice, but by morning the lemon scent had faded and a noticeable, though bearable, AC musk was left. The flooring looked poorly installed, with bad cuts and some planks sticking up. The tub spout was pulling away from the wall and its plug wasn't attached. There were cracks and what may have been old damp spots in the bathroom drywall, all of which made the place feel rundown.
