Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Mesquite

The room was clean and smelled great, and the front desk staff were really nice. They went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful. I'd definitely come back.

Dining options are very close, and the staff were very nice. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the desk and work area worked well for me. Still, I'd rate this hotel three stars because it needs updating. I prefer walk-in showers, and the tubs need attention. Many Marriotts have upgraded their TVs and streaming, but this one hasn't. The carpets in the rooms and hallways seem to have been shampooed several times, and there's a damp, not-quite-dry smell in the air.

We found a bowl of food covered in mold in the microwave, apparently months old. There were dead roaches in the room corners and a live one in the bathroom. The shower handle came off, the room smelled damp and musty, and the window was stuck partly open. The temperature was fine at night but the room felt almost humid during the day. We left our contact details with the manager and heard nothing for almost a week. When we finally reached someone, they offered only a 20% refund because we aren't rewards members. This place is horrendous. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially anyone with respiratory sensitivities. It feels like a serious health hazard.

The beds were amazing, and check-in was quick. The woman checking us in was very nice. The bathroom needs work, though. There was mold on the ceiling and tub, the tub drained slowly and leaked while I showered, and the soap holder wasn't clean. The curtains were stained, the A/C unit had mold, and the carpets felt like they hadn't been shampooed in a long time.
