Clarion Hotel & Suites New Orleans Airport

We booked at the last minute and still got a room during carnival weekend, away from all the traffic congestion. Check-in and check-out were quick, with no waiting. IHOP is connected to the hotel, which made grabbing food easy. The hallway pictures were cool, and there were ice and vending machines, security cameras in the parking lot, plenty of room space, and a pool.

The coffee is really good and hot, and it's out by 5 AM. The staff are always professional, though not friendly. I've stayed here four times in 2025 without major problems until the December visit, when the tub wouldn't drain properly. Maintenance tried to unclog it, but it was still blocked when he left. Now I remind myself to check the sink, tub and toilet before checking in so I don't get inconvenienced. My main dislike is the red carpet in the rooms. Carpets hold bacteria, dirt and germs, so bring flip-flops.

I was in town for my nephew's graduation and had no complaints about the very clean room or excellent service. I accidentally drove away with his gift on top of my car, so I arrived at the graduation without it. The front desk retrieved it from the parking lot when I called. I'll always be grateful and thankful.

RAGGEDY! They lure people in with the price, then hit you with an extra deposit at check-in that isn't mentioned anywhere in the confirmation email. I reread mine, and it was not there, though the front desk clerk swore it was. Her attitude was awful too. So many things were broken, starting in the lobby. She never mentioned the main elevator was out. She actually directed me to it and watched us walk over without saying a word. Only when we asked if there was another elevator did she tell us about the one at the back of the building. That was a problem for some of our group with mobility issues. Our room doors wouldn't fully close unless forced. They looked shut, but someone could push them open from outside unless you slammed them and made sure they clicked. I saw another guest in the hall and asked if his door was like that too. He said yes. They're supposedly “under construction,” but I didn't see actual construction. The wooden sliding doors in front of the balcony doors were broken too. There was only one track instead of two, so one door swung loose at the bottom. The fridge shelf was broken and wobbly. And there's a mirror directly behind the room door, right where it could easily get broken when the door swings open. I'll never stay here again.
