The concierge only works through WhatsApp, but they were quick to reply and tried to help. We’re locals and were staying for business, so the prime location for beachgoers wasn’t much use to us. The second room, #12 on the second floor, was nicer and thankfully less humid, with a proper closet. Room #3, where we first checked in, had a makeshift hanging rod, heavy humidity, a strong bleach smell, and a painfully hard bed with coils you could feel. We bought a foam topper after the first of our four nights. When we returned the next day, the room was flooded from the dehumidifier, which was very loud along with the AC. There were major potholes throughout the room. We had to pack up and move. Neither room had a safe, which I consider a basic feature, so we asked maintenance not to clean while our valuables were there. At checkout, they first said we could leave our bags until 3 p.m., then tried to charge $45 at the last minute because the cleaning crew left at 3. They dropped the charge after we showed them the message confirming it. I was glad not to spend all four nights in the first room. I woke with congested sinuses the first morning and think I might have gotten sick. It’s an old building, probably renovated a few years ago, and parts show signs of needing maintenance, though it was still an okay value. Better avoid the ground floor if you want to dodge the humidity.
Six months later, a friend asking about my worst travel experience in America reminded me to write this. I arrived around midnight after a delayed flight at an apartment I’d booked through Booking.com. The place in the photos was nothing like the apartment I walked into: the furniture was damaged, the humidity was unbearable, and there was mold on the walls. I should have dealt with it right away, but didn’t want to disturb anyone at that hour, so I take responsibility for that mistake. I canceled at the property, although they had already charged me, and went somewhere else. In the morning I explained why I’d left and asked for a refund. They took several days even to reply, then tried to tell me, the person who had actually been inside the apartment, that everything was perfectly fine. I’ve never dealt with such unprofessionalism. I’m attaching photos of what I found. I strongly recommend avoiding this place in Miami. If the choice were this accommodation or the street, I’d pick the street any day, at least for the fresh air.
The location was a big plus, just one block from Miami Beach Convetion Center. The room was basic but clean, with fresh-smelling sheets and a small ironing board and iron.
I’d give it 4.5 stars. The hotel is generally clean and looked after, and the worn or less tidy spots seem to be busy areas with lots of guests passing through rather than a housekeeping problem. Nothing serious, and it was easy enough to stay here.
Really close to the beach and near plenty of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and the convention centre. I love this hotel and keep coming back. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the online service is good with quick replies.
