Albion Hotel

The location made it easy to get to transport and the main attractions. Both shifts of reception staff were friendly, professional, and attentive, and the room was clean and well maintained. Thanks to housekeeping for taking such good care of it, and to the polite, efficient doorman who helped put my bag in storage. The whole team made my stay very pleasant, and I’d be glad to return.

Hugo and Diego at reception were great, and the location worked well: close to the beach, a shop around the corner, and the bus to the airport. Just be careful, Google has the stop in the wrong place. I was upgraded to a larger room, which was nice, but it was so cold I spent time in my jacket under the blanket. Turning off the air conditioner or setting it to 32 degrees Celsius didn’t help. The soundproofing was awful. I could hear corridor noise and the man next door, and at night there was a strange snoring-like sound that seemed to come from the electrical equipment behind the TV. Breakfast was okay, though there was no salad or other greens, as the photo shows. The tea water had a smell or taste like pipes, so I couldn’t drink it, and the coffee wasn’t tasty.

The staff were kind and personable, and we’d happily stay again and recommend the hotel to friends and family. We spent one night at Albion South Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, after flying into Fort Lauderdale before our cruise the next day. We picked it for its good reviews, value, and walking distance to Lincoln Road shopping area and the beaches. The cozy bedroom had four pillows; the bathroom was clean and had a tub, and there was a large closet with a safe. Internet was fine for email and searches. We liked the beautiful, comfortable lobby, quiet hallways, small working gym, and free coffee on the mezzanine after 7 a.m. We were on the third floor and took the stairs because the elevator was slow. The pool was under renovation, which didn’t bother us. There’s a sleek bar downstairs for a late drink and an à la carte breakfast with a range of options. We also left our luggage for the day so we could explore before leaving for the cruise.

The Albion’s spot at Lincoln and Collins can’t be beat, especially if you want the Miami Beach atmosphere and a five to ten minute walk to restaurants, the ocean, and great art. I love this three star Rubell property. The front desk staff are fantastic, and the beds are comfortable with great shower pressure. It could use a little TLC in how it looks. If you’re after a five-star ocean-view stay, look elsewhere; for this location and vibe, I choose the Albion.
