Angler’s Hotel – Miami Beach

The staff were the highlight, from Pedro by the pool to Andre at check-in, and even the cleaning crew were amazing. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but when I reached for the makeup mirror, it had gunk and eyelash glue on it. Detail matters. Sleep was the bigger problem. Guests coming back late kept slamming their bedroom doors, and each one shook the place enough to wake me up. It wasn’t the street partying. They really need to stop those doors from banging across the floor. If you want a proper night’s rest after margaritas and good food, bring heavy-duty earplugs. Otherwise, this place could leave you wide awake.

We only had about 12 hours here, stopping overnight before boarding our cruise at the Port of Miami, so I can only speak to what we used. The hotel was quiet after our late arrival, and its location a few miles from the port was handy. Check-in around 10:15 p.m. was quick, the staff were friendly, and they brought our bags up to the third floor. Our room was spacious, with a good-sized bed, seating area, large bathroom and walk-in shower. It also had tea and coffee facilities and a mini bar. Breakfast offered indoor or outdoor seating; we ate outside, and both the food and service were good. We also had a brief look around and found the rooftop pool and outdoor seating. Leaving was less smooth. We’d asked for a cab at 9:30 a.m., but reception ordered it right away, so we missed it and had to ask them to arrange another. The receptionist wasn’t very helpful, and the manager stepped in. There was also a bill question about charges for facilities we couldn’t have used during a simple overnight stop, but that was sorted out. Some shared areas could use a refresh. My wife and I usually go for small boutique hotels, and this felt more like a practical stop than a destination, but it was perfectly adequate. If you’re sailing from the port, it may be worth a look.

Adriana at the front desk really made my stay. She suggested some great places around Miami and restaurants that ended up being trip highlights. The whole team was great, and the service felt genuinely thoughtful. I had a wonderful time at Angler’s. Thanks!

The room was a large suite with two beds, a big bathroom and a balcony, which came in handy for drying our swimsuits. The location is good, the rooftop pool is nice, and there are filtered taps for refilling bottles. But they hadn’t made up the second bed for our two adults and one child. We asked twice before anyone came to do it. Then just before midnight, a reception staff member walked into our room, apparently thinking it was empty. It scared our son badly. We reported it, but the response was mild and there was no formal apology. Our beds weren’t made and we didn’t get fresh towels during the stay either. The room wasn’t cheap.
