Beach Plaza Hotel South Beach

Juda was quick to reply whenever we had a question or concern, usually within minutes. The hotel doesn’t have a 24-hour reception, but everything went smoothly and our stay was great. It’s affordable for what you get and perfectly located, about a five-minute walk from the beach with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. There’s also a cozy private outdoor lounge area that would be nice for a group or a romantic evening. We each found a water bottle in the mini fridge, and the hotel gave us a tote bag as a souvenir. Thanks again, I highly recommend it :)

There isn’t a formal reception, though someone was always on site. Juda was kind and incredibly helpful with our questions and requests, making the stay much easier and more pleasant. The room was clean, the mattresses were good, and there was plenty of coffee, tea, and water. The hotel is in the heart of South Beach, within walking distance of everything. The beach is about five minutes away, and through the hotel’s partner company we got complimentary beach chairs, with towels provided too. Great place.

The room was cute and clean, and the location is good for the price. But you get what you pay for. The AC was very loud and sat about 12 inches from the bed. I’m not sure if that placement even meets code. Thin walls added to the noise. You can hear guests coming and going and people blasting their TVs. I was woken about four times each night. It was awful, especially if you’re a light sleeper. The check-in setup was stressful too. There’s no real concierge, and it’s all online. My room code arrived at the last minute, and the phone number on the website didn’t work at all. To get any response, you have to text the “staff” using the number that sent you the code. It’s a super weird system and made for a strange experience.

The beach is nearby, and they provide towels to take with you, which was a plus. I liked the room’s decor and the bed was great, though the furniture was just sufficient. The place is small, so hallway noise carries, and there was a damp smell because the window wouldn’t open. The AC helped, but it was noisy. Check-in is by code, with no front desk staff. After booking, they send a link for pre-check-in, then your access details. I booked through a third party and had no problems. The one catch is check-in is only available until 4pm, which may be late for some. You can text or call to ask about getting in earlier. It worked well for a short stay.
