Beachside All Suites Hotel

The room was crammed with two queen beds, so one of them blocked the bedroom door and I couldn’t close it. The front door deadbolt was useless because its hole in the frame had been sealed. There are three separate locations, and they assign you one when you arrive, so the address shown may not be where you stay. The pool is at another address, and the happy hour is apparently somewhere else too. Parking is on the street and you have to pay through a parking app. Then they charged me an extra $35 per day service fee when I arrived. Not a great place, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Eduardo was wonderful. He walked me and my children to our room, which was at a different location. It turned out to be an apartment, clean and just two blocks from the beach. The furniture could use replacing and the place needs some renovation, but I liked it and loved the hotel.

We left without spending even one night of our four-night booking. The room was filthy and smelled of human urine. I wouldn’t take off my shoes there, let alone shower or sleep in it. We’d booked through an Alaska Vacation package on Expedia, but the hotel staff offered no alternative or solution and refused to refund us. We had to leave and pay for another hotel. The photos on the Expedia and Alaska site didn’t match what we found. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had as a seasoned traveler. I only gave it one star because the system required one.

We had a really spacious room with a kitchenette, and the beds were amazing. It’s an easy walk to the beach, and there’s a free trolley stop right outside the building that goes up and down Collins Avenue. For the price, this was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and tried hard to accommodate us, especially Lorena and Jesus, who I spoke with. I’d definitely stay here again.
