Best Western Plus Atlantic Beach Resort

For our first anniversary, we ended up dealing with an overcharge, hours of calls, and a room change from a king bed to two doubles that we hadn’t been told about or asked to accept. We spoke to more than five people using three different numbers before they sorted that out. The front desk was understaffed and often couldn’t answer the phone. I’m still hoping Best Western sees this and makes it right somehow. The walls looked peeling, rusty, and moldy. The shower curtain was too short, so water went all over the floor, and I killed a roach in the room. The TV never worked. Someone came up to “fix” it, tickled the set, then left without a word. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price either, with lots of cheaper, better options within walking distance. I have plenty of photos and will post a few for now. Otherwise, we’ll stay somewhere better and much cheaper.

We arrived very early after a cruise. They held our luggage and handled everything for check-in except the room keys, and the room was ready around 1 PM. Room 625 was a little dated but comfortable, clean, and had a great ocean view through the large window and from the balcony. It came with a coffeemaker, blow dryer, safe, fridge/freezer, and iron and board. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great beach location, with an outdoor pool nearby and direct access to the beach trail. Beach chairs are included in the resort fee.

The best part was the location, right by the beach and near plenty of attractions and activities. We stayed at Best Western Plus Atlantic Beach Resort for three days and two nights. The rooms were small but okay, while the balcony felt outdated and could use a thorough clean and better maintenance. Breakfast was disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations. The stay was average overall, an okay choice mostly for the location, but there’s room for improvement. Three stars.

The boardwalk spot is handy, right by the ocean and near shops, and parts of the hotel have been updated. Our room was okay, though the view was straight onto another building. The pool is small, and several facilities were shut for most of our visit. The outdoor rinse showers had broken hoses, and the Wave Bar and restaurant were closed about 80% of the time. Book breakfast ahead or you may be disappointed. The laundry machines are a serious problem. They list $2.50, but my card was charged over $11. When I contacted the company, they refused to refund me because I was outside the USA.
