Collins Hotel

The place is incredibly clean for a budget hotel, and the staff have been friendly and helpful. The pool area also looks recently refreshed. We booked through a third-party site, but check-in was easy. The lobby smell wasn’t my favorite, and the walls are thin enough that you can hear other people’s conversations quite clearly. There’s only so much that can be done about the building itself, though. Those are the only things I’d change.

We came back to this Hotel twice, including for one night between back-to-back cruises after spending two nights here before the first cruise. Francisca checked us in both times and was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Medi was there one evening and was a real help, very friendly too. The rooms are well kept, with comfortable beds and pillows, and the AC worked in both rooms. There’s laundry onsite and plenty of seating in the lobby, but no breakfast. You can leave your luggage there if there’s space while you wait for your room. It’s a great location, walkable to the beach, with businesses across the street and on both sides. The area felt safe. You can hear outside noise, but the AC blocks it out. Prices were decent for such a busy area. The Hotel has clearly been updated, like others nearby. We’ll definitely stay again.

We traveled from England and stayed three nights before our cruise, mainly needing somewhere comfortable to adjust to the time zone. The little pool area was lovely, a sunny spot to relax while listening to the birds. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was serviced every day. Reception were so helpful and went out of their way for us, even printing luggage tags and giving us directions to Miami port that avoided the road closures for the Marathon on Sunday 25th January. The whole team made us feel very welcome. I’ve booked another cruise and already contacted the hotel to reserve three nights here next year. Thanks so much to everyone!

For parking, try the lot by Allison Park Lot P81. It’s $1 per hour and free from 11 PM to 8 AM, while the hotel charges $25 a day. We stayed four days. The rooms were clean, but the pool was quite dirty and we didn’t see anyone using it. It’s a very simple place, nothing special, and the price felt a little high, especially over the holidays. Still, even at that rate it was the best value we found. The beach is very close, which is a big plus. I’d call it more of a 2-star hotel.
