Courtyard by Marriott Miami Beach-South Beach

The location is great, and the front desk and morning breakfast staff were super friendly. Marcus, one of the operation managers, listened patiently to our concerns and seemed genuinely interested in how this property compares with others. His attention is the main reason I didn’t rate the stay lower. I’m a Marriott titanium member with 80+ nights a year, and I’m loyal to the brand because the experience is usually consistent. This one fell short. Our spotless room had a strange baby powder incense odor. At times there wasn’t enough hot water or water pressure, only one elevator was working, and getting to the rooftop pool meant using the emergency exit stairs. The resort fee includes a free alcoholic “drink of the day.” I don’t drink alcohol, and the bartender said I couldn’t get a free soda instead. At this price, I expect hot water, ample air conditioning and water pressure, and staff trained to Marriott standards. We likely won’t stay here again.

The location was excellent, but the service and cleanliness problems overshadowed the stay. Our room wasn’t clean when we arrived, and although housekeeping came the next day, they didn’t leave clean towels. I wouldn’t stay here again. As Platinum members, we got the $29 daily credit, but the way it was handled, especially by the kitchen staff, was poor. They didn’t speak English and could barely understand us, making even simple exchanges frustrating. Their attitude felt dismissive and unwelcoming.

The one thing that bothered me was having to go to reception because they forgot to give us towels. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I liked staying here in 2025 and would definitely come back.

I stayed overnight for work because this hotel was minutes from Miami Beach convention center, instead of making the drive back to Hollywood. The beds and pillows were comfortable, which matters a lot, and the rooms were clean and well thought out. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it to friends.
