I spent 8 nights here in May 2026, after booking through Opodo for around $105 a night. I’m from London, UK, and wasn’t expecting luxury at that price. Some reviews made me laugh because the expectations for a budget hotel seemed pretty ambitious. The Broadmore is quirky, worn, and dated, but it can be good value for the right traveller. I don’t understand the claims that the area is sketchy. The 100 bus, with one change after the 150, runs from the airport and stops about two minutes away. Nearby construction is for work on the library next door. The only spot that might seem sketchy is a small alley by the pool. The location is handy: Walgreens, the beach, and the bus stop are all a few minutes away on foot. I could pick up snacks, fruit, or a drink and be back in my room within 15 minutes. Having a fridge helped a lot. I made breakfast and the odd packed lunch, which saved money. Next time I’d bring a travel kettle, mug, and cutlery for tea, coffee, or ramen. The lobby is a little battered but has Art Deco charm. Richie at reception was excellent and gave me a welcome I’d expect at a much pricier place. The lift is painfully slow but works. I was on the fourth floor and usually took the stairs. The corridors and carpets are showing their age, though my room was fine. The door locked properly, the air conditioning was noisy but effective, and the clean sheets and firm mattress were comfortable. The bathroom is dated, with separate hot and cold taps, and the bath drained slowly, but everything worked. The pool, though, is one of the most forlorn and worn-out hotel pools I’ve seen. I didn’t even think about sunbathing beside it. Every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. I also chatted with some of the hardworking housekeeping staff, who are making a living in a busy city and each have their own stories. Staying here, using public transport, and making my own lunches saved me hundreds of dollars, and I still had an amazing time in Miami. This probably isn’t the choice for a luxury holiday or for impressing a partner. I wouldn’t bring one here, but I’d recommend it to friends on a budget if they aren’t too fussy. At around $100 a night, I’d quite possibly stay again. For the hotel’s condition alone, 3/5 seems fair. Personally, I’d give it 4/5 for the value, location, staff, air conditioning, and surprisingly comfortable bed. I never woke up thinking, “Wow, what a hotel!” But once home, I realized I’d had a fantastic time in Miami, and that wouldn’t have been possible without the Broadmore and its staff. I’m sure they know the building’s limitations, but they still deliver world-class service and keep it running.

It did the job for us. The hotel and rooms are old, and the elevator takes its time, but it’s inexpensive and the location is perfect if you want to be right by the beach. There are good restaurants and bars nearby, and the staff are friendly.

The staff were great and making the best of a bad situation, and being right on the beach is nice. But the rooms are abysmal. The carpet is disgusting, the television runs off a janky antenna, and the place looks like it hasn’t been renovated in about 25 years. The elevator crawls along like a turtle, and the single-pane windows are screwed shut. This is the Motel 6 or Super 8 of Miami Beachfront hotels. It’s old and feels like it needs to be torn down.

Agustina was easily the best person we met on the trip. She was kind and fabulous, and made our stay as good as it could be. The beachfront hotel is in a quieter northern part of Miami, perfect for a quick weekend and a couple of relaxing days. 💛

The one bright spot was the friendly staff, but I wouldn’t return. The rooms were very outdated and didn’t look clean, and the bathroom felt like a jail cell. We slept in our clothes and skipped showers because the showerhead was absolutely filthy.
