La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miami Lakes

I’d definitely stay again. The hotel was convenient for my work, with several restaurants within walking distance at a nearby shopping center. You have to request room service, but they cleaned very well and brought fresh towels. My one issue was the TV. I reported it to the front desk on the first morning, and it worked for one night before getting stuck loading again. Glad I brought my iPad.

The carpet was so filthy it turned our feet black, and the bathroom looked dirty and unsanitary, with hair left behind and tiles that seemed poorly glued back together. We also found roaches and an old half-eaten apple tucked beside the bed. The room smelled awful from the start, like smoke mixed with something musty and unclean. It was clear it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The stay was uncomfortable and disappointing. With the odor, grime, and pests, I’d advise people to stay somewhere else.

The bed was smaller than its frame, and I took a big chunk out of my leg on the frame. They told me I was the first person to complain, though I later read another review from someone who’d been cut by it. Lawyer pending. The carpet was stained, and the elevator button lights didn’t work, so you couldn’t tell if you’d pressed one. Check-in took forever when someone was ahead of me. The room was tiny, and so was the TV, if that matters to you. This was all in my first two hours. I’m sure the night won’t improve, and I’ll check out first thing in the morning. OMG, what a dump. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and motels, and this is right among the worst.

Breakfast was the worst, and the hotel was a huge disappointment. The room, bed, washroom, carpets, and floors all looked old, dirty, and poorly maintained. There was a persistent unpleasant smell, and the washroom hadn’t been cleaned properly. I wouldn’t recommend it at all, it’s not worth the money.
