Miami Lakes Hotel

I’m still disappointed, especially since I emailed 'the owner'/Fran directly on December 30, 2025 at 1:31PM and got no reply. I’m posting after giving the hotel more than two weeks to respond to my email. No reply or call came. We booked one room with two beds, and my name was added to the reservation before check-in. Staff incorrectly split the booking into two rooms, even though both of us repeatedly explained that we’d booked only one. Our keys stopped working several times during the stay. A manager admitted it was a hotel system error and said it would be fixed, but later we were told to pay for a second room or leave immediately. The mistake wasn’t ours. When we tried to leave, staff said we couldn’t get our belongings without paying. We offered to pay for one night, but they refused. We were charged extra because of the hotel’s error. The daytime manager promised to call on 12/29 but never did, and a follow-up email was ignored. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

I was satisfied with the property and staff. It’s a quiet, nice three-star hotel, with older rooms that are well maintained. There was no noise, the bed was good, and both the shower pressure and temperature were good. I can’t speak to value for money since I was there because of a missed connection in MIA.

The lobby looked beautiful when I arrived, and the staff were very friendly. But my room wasn’t ready at check-in because it was still being cleaned. Once I got in, it looked like the cleaners had rushed through it. I mentioned the problem to a maid on my floor, and she said she’d take care of it. For a three-night stay costing $686, I didn’t expect a rushed cleaning job. After I left, I called Experian to ask what could be done. After I spoke with Gilbert, he said there was nothing he could do because I hadn’t complained while I was there. I didn’t ask for his manager, Fran, whom I called several times and left messages for, but never heard back from. If you stay here, bring cleaning products. Don’t expect to use the pool or get a response from management. Most of the cleaning crew didn’t speak English, so there was a major language barrier.

I’d give zero if I could. For one night I was charged $395.77, plus $350 for the sheets after we had to call 911 when my 92-year-old grandmother fell. The $250 room deposit comes back to me. The elevator was broken, and they gave me the choice of taking the stairs or walking my grandmother another way. I’ll never stay here again.
