We loved the vintage feel, and the location made it easy to walk to plenty of restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean, the pool was nice, and service was good. Some spots could use a bit of paint, but that didn't take away from our stay. The staff didn't speak English, so I had to message through Airbnb to ask for a hair dryer.

The beds were clean and the pool was nice, but my interaction with the night staff left me really upset. I was outside alone at 3 a.m., distracted by a phone call with my friend and already in a bad mood, when I heard someone calling "hola, hola." I don't speak Spanish and I'm not Hispanic, and I couldn't see well without my contacts. I turned around quickly, tried to enter the code, and said "what" while a lot was going on. One of the men, wearing a black shirt, got angry and said I had given him "MASSIVE ATTITUDE." Maybe my tone sounded rude, but I didn't roll my eyes, suck my teeth, or give him a nasty look. He said he was only trying to help with the code, then told me, "when you see a black man, you need to respect him." I felt so uncomfortable that I hurried inside. The two men then loudly talked about me behind my back as they walked behind me through the quiet, empty motel. It was overwhelming and unprofessional. Aside from that, my overall experience was good.

The location is good and the rooms are comfortable, but our departure turned into a problem. We had left a wheelchair in the lobby because our room was on the second floor, and needed to collect it at 7 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. flight. We had asked the night staff to have someone open reception then, but nobody was there that morning. We waited an hour before a staff member showed up. Reception is only open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no 24-hour staff. The experience wasn't good, and I don't recommend this hotel.

The water view and the on-site nightclub and restaurant were great, and I really liked the retro hippie, plant-loving decor. I stayed one night about a year ago and fell in love with the place. The rooms were clean, and the hotel/motel has a unique concept. I'll book again.

The check-in was simple, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly. We had a peaceful, quiet stay since the attached club is closed Sunday through Wednesday. My husband and I booked through Airbnb, and we were glad we didn't let the bad reviews put us off. It's intentionally vintage, which is exactly what we loved about the retro look and feel. Our room had a TV, too.
