SpringHill Suites by Marriott Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon Area

My room at SpringHill Suites Miami Blue Lagoon Area was spacious and comfortable, with modern decor, plenty of amenities, and comfortable beds. The pool and common areas were pleasant places to relax after traveling, and I got complimentary parking as a Bonvoy Member. The hotel is conveniently close to the airport, and check-in was easy and friendly. Staff were helpful, polite, and kind throughout. Breakfast was part of the stay, but the selection was limited and the quality could be better. I also noticed a strong chemical smell in the hallways that took away from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. Even with those issues, I had a very positive stay and give it 4 stars. It's a good choice for comfort, convenience, and value in the Miami area. Better breakfast and hallway ventilation could bring it up to 5-star caliber.

We arrived from the Port of Miami after getting off a cruise, with a long gap before the 3 pm check-in. The front desk gentleman was kind and let us wait on the back patio while he held our luggage. Our room was ready around 12:30, an hour and a half early, which was amazing. Check-in was easy, and we got a 2 pm late checkout since our flight wasn't until 6:30 that day. We should plan better next time. The room was clean, beautiful, and huge, and we booked the shuttle for the next day. The place is in great condition overall, though a little dated. The lake is shared and has some garbage on the banks, which I don't think is all the hotel's responsibility. There's not much the hotel itself could really change. The scenery was lovely, the shuttle was fast and professional, and the staff were friendly. I'd love to come back when I'm in Miami.

The hotel staff were very hospitable, but the property itself needs a remodel. Our room had no trash can or ice bucket, the couch was dirty, and the free breakfast was pretty disgusting. The free airport shuttle was at Zone 22, I believe, but it was just one driver coming every 30 minutes. There was also a $15-per-person shuttle to the cruise ports. The driver who took us to the port was very experienced and got us there quickly.

The pool and lagoon out back are gorgeous, and I enjoyed eating breakfast there. I even saw a friendly iguana. The room was large and comfortable, especially for one person, and I loved the trundle couch for lounging. Check-in took less than three minutes, and I got a gift bag with bottled water, cookies, and the hours for the amenities, breakfast, and checkout. That was helpful. The MIA shuttle comes every hour, and the driver was courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great, especially the flavored waffles, though I wish they'd had oatmeal. The gym was missing its set of 15 lb dumbbells, which was inconvenient since that's my usual set. There's a public bus stop nearby, but not much within walking distance, so having a car is good. Great Marriott property with amazing staff and service. I'd definitely recommend it.
