My room’s shower floor sloped toward the door instead of the drain, and the bathroom closet doors were faulty: one wouldn’t open and the other wouldn’t stay shut. The room temperature was hard to manage too. I like it warmer, but the heat never came on, so I had to turn off the AC. The elevators only worked about half the time, one was out of service, and sometimes I’d wait around five minutes after pressing the button. The doors slam loudly whenever people come and go. There was no proper dinner, just an evening snack with wine and beer. I’m not sure about lunch because I was working. At breakfast, food was reheated, and one day the eggs smelled bad. The rooms were missing basic kitchen things like plates, cups, and cookware. The second floor smelled like urine, and the third smelled like smoke. Even though it’s supposed to be a smoke-free place, marijuana smoke from other guests got into my room. Another room smelled so strongly of mold or mildew that we had to leave it. We also had to change rooms because of a leak. A friend’s key kept causing trouble because staff thought they were checking out. We asked several times for it to be fixed, but it wasn’t. We raised a lot of issues and little was done. The staff seemed short-handed or without the right resources. Especially at night and early morning, nobody was at the desk for a long time. During my first week, I called the front desk a couple of times and no one answered. The hospitality was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. It’s an old building, and they need to repair it or close it.
