Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Miamisburg Dayton South

The daytime woman at the desk at least tried to help, but the evening front desk man seemed more interested in sitting in the office on his phone. When I reported that the AC was broken along with the other problems, I was told maintenance wouldn't be in until morning. Nobody offered another room or any other help. The room smelled of smoke, there was no hot water, the sink was clogged, the blinds were broken, the pool was out of order, and the AC didn't work. I asked for an extra pillow and the front desk offered a towel instead.

The room was good, but breakfast service was lousy. The coffee was cold, the hot food was cold too, and the guy at the desk was barefoot while setting breakfast out.

Service was great, and the refreshed room is the main highlight. The hallways, elevator, and shared areas still need some care. They look like renovations have started, but may not be finished.

The room was clean, had new laminate flooring, a decent sized fridge for a hotel, plus a small stove and microwave. Those were the upsides. Some room lights didn't work, and there was plenty of noise from slamming doors and dogs barking all night. They allow pets, so expect barking. The pool shown in the listing was under construction, and the AI images aren't accurate. The parking lot had broken mirrors and other items I couldn't identify, which felt unsafe and trashy. There was garbage and mess throughout the hotel, lot, and stairways. The “free” breakfast was bare minimum, with cereal from a dog food style dispenser and a couple of other unappetizing things. Don't expect much. It wasn't the worst stay, but it came close.
