The views are stunning, and the rooms feel beautiful and cozy with wood walls and leather details. There’s a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, and free Wi-Fi. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. I absolutely love this safe, welcoming little slice of heaven.

The room was cute, but it didn’t seem very clean, and there was a strange musty smell. The bathroom tap water stinks, and the hand soap still leaves your hands feeling soapy however long you rinse. The owners are stoners, which is whatever, but they should replace the carpets with flooring or something.

The owners are nice people trying to keep the family business going, and there’s a lot to enjoy outside: kayaks, paddles and life jackets for guests, horseshoe pits, yard games, plenty of lawn chairs and picnic tables, plus a great fire pit with wood and paper ready to use. I liked the idea of the place, but the building needs a lot of work and the cleaning crew leaves a lot to be desired. In Cabin #10, the failing subfloor has left a hole in the kitchen, and the cabinets look like they’re barely attached to the wall. There were cobwebs and spiders in the corners, and the windows were missing screens. Dirt, dust and wrappers had collected in the gap between the lower bunk and the wall. We covered the couch with a blanket from our vehicle before sitting on it and wiped down the whole cabin with Clorox wipes when we arrived. It was very dirty. If cleanliness is a top priority, Type A/clean freaks need to move on. If you don’t care much about that, you may be happy here. There are lots of good things about this place, but the building is showing its age.

The kayaks were free for my family to use, and we enjoyed the lakes and ATV trails with the kids. We stayed for a little over a week, and the room was amazing, far beyond what I expected for the price. The owners were courteous and understood my neediness. We’re so glad we stayed and will come back.

This is a relaxed, quiet place where working class folks can unwind, and it’s great for the price. The room was clean, the grounds were well kept, and the beds were comfortable. We grilled some great burgers, made new friends, and spent time on the porch swing by the canal watching the sunset. The dock is an easy spot to launch a kayak or canoe. Probably not for high class snooty people.
