Comfort Inn & Suites Michigan City South

The continental breakfast was extremely disappointing and unappetizing, and the room had a couch that looked like it had been pulled from a dumpster. In the bathroom, an old mat in the tub seemed to have mold growing underneath it, and there were nasty moldy-looking stains in and behind the toilet. The property looks fine at first, and it may have potential, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

I come here several times a year because it's clean and comfortable, and as a woman on my own, I feel safe. The staff are friendly and professional. Linda and Mimi treated me especially well. Definitely the best hotel in Northwest Indiana!

Within five minutes of arriving, we knew we were leaving. The wall had holes, the toilet wouldn't flush, pieces were missing from the bathtub, and the window and AC were filthy. Management wouldn't refund us, so we disputed the charge with our bank. We spoke with Comfort Inn Corporate, where Raj Patel, the manager at this location, works. If you ask for a refund, get the checkout information from the front desk too. Apparently Raj thinks checking people out a day after they complain means they won't get their refunds. Corporate Comfort Inns says they can't deny proof of checkout. Nice try, Raj. Stay the hell away.

I didn't trust the breakfast after seeing how the hotel and room were kept. The place smelled like mildew, including my room, and one wall looked like someone had started painting it and stopped. There was no shower curtain, the tub was dirty, the fixtures were rusty and worn, and the towels were tiny. We had exactly two. When I told the front desk woman the curtain was missing before leaving for my event, she just asked, "Would you like one?" The man working first refused my request to check in at 2 instead of 4, even though I had an event and only three cars were in the lot. He eventually let me in early but said there'd be an extra charge. The outside looked dirty and unkempt, so I knew it seemed questionable when I pulled up. I stayed one night over a holiday weekend and paid $200. This was probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed in.
