Dunes Inn Michigan City Hotel

I used to stay here a couple of years ago, when Herschell was managing the motel. The rooms seemed decent compared with others nearby, and he was an excellent manager, fair and easy to get along with. Since Kevin replaced him, I refuse to stay. He tries to control everything you do, says visitors aren't allowed, and goes into your room without letting you know first. He's rude and very disrespectful.

There were dead and live roaches everywhere, and used needles in our room. We called the police because the front desk people didn't seem to care. They said they'd just sprayed, but it was hard to believe that with roaches all over the place. Check the room before you go in and you'll see them right away. The Knights Inn across the way costs the same and is much nicer. Save yourself the disgust of staying here. I honestly don't know how they're still open.

The place was very helpful and conveniently close to my job. I'm grateful.

I wouldn't give this place a star. I paid for a week, but when I saw the room and asked for my money back, he refused and charged me for one night. The mattress was awful, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, cockroaches in the room, and rude guests outside. Do not bring children here!
