Lamplight Inn

We requested a cabin in February 2015 for our wedding weekend nearby. The plan was for my husband and some groomsmen to use the Pirate Cabin on Friday, then for the two of us to stay there after our wedding on Saturday. I got an email confirming the request and saying they’d be in touch, but never heard from them. I checked the website calendar often and soon realized it wasn’t kept up to date. From early April I called several times, left messages asking about the request, and got no calls back. Eventually I reached a woman who said they had nothing available that weekend and knew nothing about my request. She thought she might be able to rearrange some guests to get us another cabin and said she’d let us know. She didn’t. When I called again, she wasn’t sure she could do it and said she’d call back. Again, no call. One week before the wedding, I called to say we needed firm plans and asked for an answer so we could make arrangements. Instead, I had to find an overpriced, dirty hotel room for the groomsmen, and my husband and I scrambled to find somewhere for our wedding night just days before the ceremony. I emailed the full story hoping for some response, but they were defensive. I don’t know how this B&B is still in business if this is how they handle things. It felt like you have to be a regular to get anywhere. Don’t rely on the online calendar, and don’t expect calls back. I guess you have to go in person, which is inconvenient when you’re out of town. If you stay, keep on top of every step of the communication.

A charming place for a unique getaway, with a beautiful atmosphere and lovely owners. I highly recommend it!
