The price is the one drawback, on the high side. Everything around Dallas costs more, though, and if you’re looking for a high-quality hotel, this is a really good one. My room was very comfortable and clean, with high-quality linens, a mini fridge, microwave, and large-screen TV. The king room had a sofa, ottoman, and small table for a drink or snack. There was good lighting and plenty of outlets. The whole property is attractive, well kept, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. It’s on the south side of E US 287, between South 14th Street and Oak Tree Lane. Free parking extends toward the highway and around behind the hotel by the pool, though spaces near the main entrance are limited. Shops and restaurants are about a 15-minute walk or a quick four-minute drive away. Midlothian Community Park is close by, and it’s beautiful, huge, and has great walking trails. Staff were professional, friendly, and good at their jobs. Check-in and checkout were easy and pleasant. I’d been here once during the Covid years, and this visit felt more relaxed. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, a small gift shop and convenience store, a fitness center with free weights, and self-service laundry. Pets are allowed, though I didn’t see any. I didn’t visit the conference rooms or business center, but I noticed a wedding event had taken place.

I keep coming back because the quality has stayed consistent every time I’ve visited. It’s a reliable, comfortable place when I’m in the area, for work or personal trips. The property is clean and well maintained, and the staff are welcoming and professional. Check-in and checkout have always gone smoothly.

After traveling all day in bad weather, this was a great place to land. Everyone I ran into was cheerful and pleasant, and Andrea at the front desk deserves a special mention for making things easy, meeting my needs, and helping me feel comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The sheets and towels were thick and soft. I’ll stay here again, and I’d recommend the hotel without hesitation.

I’ve stayed here three years in a row, maybe four, and it keeps getting worse. I’m an Elite Bonvoy member, but that seems to mean nothing. I’d reserved a King Suite six months ahead, yet after arriving past check-in time I was told to wait an hour because of a “housekeeping issue.” There always seems to be one. They tried to put us in another room, then said we’d have to move the next night, apparently to make room for someone more important. They told us in advance there would be no housekeeping during our two-night stay, since they say they don’t do it anymore after COVID. So their “housekeeping issues” become ours. The bar is worthless, there’s no restaurant, and morning breakfast isn’t free, or they mislead you about it. Most of the lights in our room didn’t work, the ancient coffee machine was broken, and there was some dysfunctional, ugly thing on the wall. The first-floor ice machine never worked, and an employee said management had been told for weeks to fix it. They haven’t maintained the facility since it opened. This place is hardly fit to be a homeless shelter, much less a hotel. Book somewhere else. I’d avoid any Marriott Bonvoy property in Midlothian, since they all seem to have the same terrible managers.

The lobby is standard and the frontline staff are courteous. That’s about all this place has going for it. The room conditions are squalid, and the corporate executives bleeding the brand dry should be ashamed to call this a habitable hotel. The so-called renovation feels like a glossy cover-up for what’s underneath. A five-minute shower left me standing in dirty water in a clogged tub. The microwave was covered in old, baked-on food stains, and the glass cups were cloudy, smeared with greasy fingerprints, and obviously unwashed. That’s a health hazard, especially for children, since germs and disease can spread when basic sanitation is ignored. The bed was lumpy and deeply sunken, with sheets that seemed hastily put on and poorly laundered. The hallway door didn’t seal properly, so light kept seeping into the room. It wasn’t blinding, but it was a constant nuisance while trying to sleep and made the cheap construction and lack of security obvious. The biggest insult is their “housekeeping” policy. They say rooms are cleaned every other day to save water, but I think that’s a COVID-era excuse for cutting labor costs, years after the pandemic. They cut housekeeping overhead in half, and the savings went to shareholders. They didn’t save jobs or improve hygiene, and they don’t care about guests’ health or satisfaction. Even with less frequent cleaning, they leave only one day’s worth of towels and coffee. You have to call the front desk and ask for the basic supplies you’ve already paid for. I’m sick of seeing another hotel brand sacrifice hygiene, service, and decency for corporate greed. I’ll never stay at another property from this brand, and I suggest booking elsewhere to protect your wallet and health.
