La Quinta Inn & Suites Richmond-Midlothian

The staff we met were very friendly, and the hotel is right in front of the mall, with food and shopping nearby. There were the usual breakfast choices: bagels, cereals, oatmeal, coffee, juices and teas, yogurt, fruit, and muffins. The hot items, eggs and bacon, were cold and needed reheating in the microwave. The room showed some wear, and the elevators need repairs.

It was a pleasant stay. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The nightly rate seemed fair, and the location was good, close to lots of restaurants and shopping. The breakfast selection could use some work.

Check-in went well, but there was hair in the tub. I asked for it to be cleaned, and the guy at the front desk at 8pm on December 19, 2025 came in and cleaned it after I pointed out that he’d missed some. Then he walked out with a terrible attitude. It’s not my fault your housekeeping staff didn’t check their work, and there was no reason for him to act that way. I’ll never book here again. We only needed a hotel because my sister is in the heart hospital fighting for her life.

American Airlines arranged this hotel after a rebooking problem, and I got here around midnight. Check-in was easy, and it’s a decent place to sleep, but the adjoining rooms can make for noisy nights. A simple latched door connected my room to the next one. Two women talked almost at a yelling volume for at least half an hour, so I knocked on the door to let them know it was past midnight. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but keep it in mind if you need quiet to sleep and might end up with inconsiderate neighbors.
