Days Inn by Wyndham Milan Sandusky South

The staff were great. The front desk people were helpful, the room cleaners were always around, and Nathan was especially helpful, informative and more polite than most hotel staff I’ve met in Florida. The hot tub worked well, though it could use updating. The pool looked beautiful and clean, but it was very cold because the heater needed repairs and they were waiting for parts. The owner should pay more attention to upkeep. The key cards had to be reprogrammed constantly every night but the last, because we couldn’t get into our room. We arrived at breakfast at 9:55 one morning, five minutes before it ended, and everything had already been taken away. I wasn’t exactly mad, but I wasn’t happy either, and that was worth about half a star. With more updating and maintenance, this could be an excellent budget hotel I’d stay at every time I came back home.

The bathroom was so cramped you had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower, and the internet was awful. The pool and hot tub weren’t ready on our first day, even though the listing said they had them. Days Inn hotels all seem like dumps. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Glad we’re only here for one night. The place smells like a dirty truck stop, and the building is run down. There’s rusty metal on the hangers and around the toilet paper holder, chipped paint on the walls and stained furniture. Even the supposedly clean towel had a hair on it. Two bulbs in one lamp were burned out, and the pool and hot tub were broken. Service wasn’t great either. Instead of offering a discount while those were out of order, the woman said we “could stay somewhere else if we wanted to.” Maybe she didn’t mean it rudely, but it was a strange thing to say. We drove in from MN today and it was already 7 pm, or I would’ve looked elsewhere. I’m a little nervous about the free breakfast 😬🫣. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

Unbelievable. The place advertises a fitness room and pool, but neither was available or working. The walkways hadn’t been shoveled, and there was snow and ice everywhere. When I asked where to park near our room, the clerk said the side door didn’t always open, but I could put something there to keep it from closing. They also demanded a $50 cash deposit from local guests and gave no receipt until checkout. Within half an hour, a clerk knocked and said we’d set off the fire alarm. She came in and confirmed there was no smoke, candles or anything else. Five minutes later she returned with her boss, Brittany, on speakerphone and said we had to leave immediately because we’d set off the smoke alarm. There was no smoke in the room. The boss yelled obscenities and was completely unprofessional, and then they refused to refund our room money. I’ve stayed at many hotels and never had anything like this happen.
