Mountain Home Inn

I came for an engagement weekend and was really pleased with the great service, wonderful views, and breakfast. What a special place, with a lovely location. Thanks, MHI, for making the weekend feel so memorable.

The view and atmosphere are gorgeous. There used to be a restaurant here, but it’s closed now. You can still get food, though it’s premade and packaged, then microwaved or served on paper plates. The fruit salad was only melon, with no other fruit.

We stayed one night in the large room after getting engaged, and it was perfect. The views were immaculate, though the best part might’ve been watching clouds roll in at sunrise after hiking. Trails are just 100 yards away, and coming back to a fire in the room after a day outdoors was the cherry on top. Everyone at Mountain Home Inn was friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our day even more special. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend it!

We stayed in room 8, which was cozy, and the views were memorable, though a few trees blocked much of the scenery. The drive up is steep, but worth it. Just be ready for lots of stairs. Beds were comfortable, showers had strong pressure, and the stay ended up being worth it. The TV never worked, there was no cable, and oddly, no phone in the room to call the front desk. Breakfast was called continental, but it was mostly fruit and quiche. I’d hoped for more breads or pastries, maybe toast, and think bacon and eggs would make it five stars. After checking out the next day, we got food from the kitchen: hummus with crackers and all the veggie sides and chips you could want, plus yogurt for my daughter and Caesar salad for my wife. She thought the salad wasn’t very fresh, but the hummus was absolutely delicious. I’d still recommend staying here. Nobody takes a quick getaway just to watch TV anyway. 😄
