Guggisberg Swiss Inn

My mother and I went horseback riding, and it was a fun experience. We stayed at Guggisberg last weekend for a little getaway and time together, and really enjoyed the band and the atmosphere. I've shared photos with several people who are planning to visit this awesome gem.

We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed every minute. The sunset was beautiful each evening, and the breakfast was the best. The horseback ride was fantastic too. Our guide was friendly and professional, and you could tell she really cared about the horses. We'll definitely be back.

We've stopped at Doughty Glen Winery whenever we're in the area, but this was our first time staying at the inn. We went with another couple on a weekend when Songbird Ohio was performing. She is definitely not to be missed. The inn's location is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are kind and accommodating. Housekeeping refreshed our rooms daily with clean towels, more soap, coffee, and tea. Breakfast runs from 7:30am - 10:00am, with something different each day: baked eggs, sausage links and patties, hash brown casserole, biscuits and gravy, sheet pan pancakes, breads, pastries, coffee, juice, milk, and tea. Everything was delicious, and we enjoyed the view while eating. We liked sitting outside to feed the ducks, spend time around the horses and donkey, and watch squirrels and birds. Later, we watched the dogs play in the pond or herd the horses while sipping wine. The lobby is cozy and brought back memories of visits to Alpine Alpa & Chalet in the Valley, which I miss terribly. The fireplace and cuckoo clock added to that feeling. We also enjoyed a meat and cheese plate from the inn and winery with our wine. Between the comfortable inn and the peaceful scenery, it made for a relaxing weekend. We're all looking forward to returning.

The land was breathtaking, and the staff and views made this a wonderful experience. It took me 2 hours to get here, and I'll absolutely make that drive again. I went trail riding this morning and had a 100/10 time. I accidentally booked a date with no one else signed up, but my guide was kind and didn't mind taking me out 1v1. She was patient, and it's clear she cares deeply about the horses and the land. I can't recommend this place enough!
