Hummingbird Hotel

After a long drive, I slept very well. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, with a comfortable bed that felt like a good middle ground between firm and plush. The large shower had a nice head and an even flow of hot water, and the bathroom was spotless. The room was clean and stocked with paper and towels, and the linens checked out with no hairs. The halls, common areas, lobby, and property all looked clean. It’s a bit of a drive from the highway, though I thought it was worth it, and the building looks newly built. Mrs. Patel greeted me at the desk and was kind, courteous, and professional. She checked in to make sure we were comfortable and everything was up to standard. Say hi to my friend Mrs Patel if you visit, she’s a sweetheart and really cares about guest comfort and satisfaction. A bedside lamp would have been nice, since I prefer having light by the bed at night. There’s no breakfast option or coffee table either. For a couple of nights, those weren’t deal breakers, and nearby gas stations have food and coffee. I like having coffee as soon as I get up, before showering or heading out, so it would matter more to me on a longer stay. Still, for the price, cleanliness, and staff, I think it’s an excellent choice. I’d consider staying long term for vacation or work if coffee were available there or in the room. I recommend it if you want a clean, comfortable place. I rarely give five stars because there’s always room to improve, but the positives outweigh these minor issues, and plenty of guests don’t drink coffee or use breakfast options anyway. I’ve worked as a facilities director in maintenance and housekeeping, so inspecting places is just natural for me now. I can tell this hotel is maintained and cleaned.

The mattress was comfortable, and the place is very new and clean. The room is super basic, though, with no lamps, just very bright overhead lighting. Food is limited to a couple of vending machines, and the pillow supply was stingy: only two standard pillows for a king bed. Really, the newness, cleanliness, and comfortable mattress are the best things I can say.

We stayed two nights at the hummingbird hotel on our way to Florida for spring break. It was perfect for being close to Nashville. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and spacious, which made traveling with young kids much easier.

The dust on the window surfaces was thick, and the desk was filthy, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The air conditioning in our supposedly brand new hotel room didn’t work properly, and the issue was never fixed. Bathroom steam set off the smoke detectors unless we waited for it to clear before leaving the room. The bathroom doors also locked us in every time we closed them. When we asked for turndown service, the owner brushed us off and said they’d get to it when they could. They never came, and the front desk staff were generally indifferent and unhelpful. I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Hummingbird Hotel in Goodlettsville, TN, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking cleanliness and professional service. The price isn’t justified by the quality of the stay. I booked through booking.com and paid when I arrived, but was told the reservation was for two people instead of three. I showed the owner my booking.com reservation showing three guests, but she refused to refund the extra $150 they charged me. This hotel charges more than once, so check your account.
