Rodeway Inn Milpitas near Great Mall

The room felt fresh and clean, and we slept well before enjoying a refreshing shower in the morning. I’d forgotten toothpaste, but the front desk gave me toothpaste and a toothbrush for free. Check-in was quick and friendly, and they explained the breakfast hours. We’d booked Rodeway Inn for the Weekend Concert because the location and price worked well for us. We had a great stay, thank you.

The beds were comfortable, and there’s plenty of parking in the large lot. The reception desk is open around the clock. Breakfast is included, though it’s basically toast and jam. The rooms are clean, but you can hear any noise.

We were here for business, and I won’t book this place again. It took the guy 50 minutes to check me in, and there was apparent prostitution going on. The rooms were poorly maintained. Before we’d even slept in the bed, I found urine stains on it. When I helped the woman change the sheet, the mattress topper underneath was so bad I had to talk myself into sleeping there that night. Stay away.

The room was dirty, with strange stains and splatters on the walls, worrying marks on the couch and desk chair, a peeling table, a dirty shower, and more. After about 20 minutes of thinking it over, I returned the keys and left. The desk guy was polite and didn’t ask for a security deposit, and when I decided to leave he kindly offered another room, but I didn’t want to spend any more of my time or his there after reading other reviews and getting a feel for the motel. I wish I could get my money back. Before the stay, I booked through Capital One’s travel portal at 7:55AM and got an email saying I could cancel free before 3:53PM. A couple of hours later, at 10:02AM, I called Capital One because the reviews I was seeing were bad. They tried to work it out with property management, but management wouldn’t refund me. I called the property myself at 10:25AM, and they cut me off with “no refunds,” despite Booking.com offering free 24 hour cancellation on the same motel room. I decided to give it a chance anyway. Don’t recommend staying here if cleanliness matters to you.
