Norwood Inn & Suites Milwaukee

The room door barely shut, and I couldn't get any rest. People next door made noise all night, with their kids running and fighting until 4 a.m. The tub had dirty rings, the shower curtain was disgusting, and the towels were yellow. There were huge potholes to dodge on the drive onto the property, strange people wandering around, and weed smell in the halls. It felt like a halfway house. I don't recommend it.

The only upside was the bus access and nearby places to eat. Otherwise, this was a terrible place for a family with kids. Room 128 had ripped linens with old blood stains, too few towels, little cleaning, and room cards that didn't work. There was fighting in the lobby between the general manager and his girlfriend, who apparently live there. Police came every day looking for fugitives, and I saw drug activity in the parking lot, prostitution, and addicts. A homeless man was allowed to live in the lobby, where people came in off the street with dirty hands to eat breakfast. The general manager was friendly with tenants and let them stay in the dining area without a room. Staff weren't helpful, though the laundry lady was nice. This place needs to be shut down.

The rooms need serious cleaning. There were dead bugs in the window ledge and on the walls, a dirty fridge and mirror, dusty lobby blinds, and tobacco in a drawer. Weed smoke filled the hallway even though the rooms are supposed to be non-smoking. I reported the smoking to the manager, but nothing happened. The bug sprayer came to spray and someone ended up in the hospital. Even the fireman/EMS technician complained about the smell. Shut it down!

I couldn't sleep because the smell in my room was so bad. The room was dirty, the TV barely worked, and paper towel had been put above the shower to stop water from spraying everywhere. There were clothes left on the shelf and a full trash can when I arrived, but no towel. I checked in at 10 p.m. and apparently would have had to wait until the next day to shower if I hadn't brought one. Before the trip I called 20 times and nobody answered. The breakfast was cereal with no bowls or spoons, and bread without a toaster. One look at the breakfast bar made me feel like I might throw up. I hope I get my $100 deposit back.
