Breakfast was very good, especially the fresh fruit and the Costa push-button coffee maker, which beats stale coffee sitting in an urn. The indoor pool is excellent, and the hot tub is really nice. The whole property looked immaculately maintained. I stayed at the HIE, Minden twice in January 2026. The room was well equipped and very clean, and the heater and thermostat worked well in winter. The comforter was a decent thickness, unlike the skimpy bed linens some hotels in this class provide. Front desk staff were friendly and professional. When I asked for dinner suggestions, they shared their favorite restaurants and offered to pull up menus online. I’ve stayed in many Holiday Inn Express hotels along California’s Interstate 5, Highway101, and elsewhere over the years for business and holidays. This is one of the best.

After skiing on the third day, the jacuzzi felt great. We came to see friends and ski, and Theresa, Deanna & Bailey made sure we had what we needed and that we were happy with our stay. The hotel was quiet, our room was clean and at a perfect temperature, and breakfast was good. There were egg omelets, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, plus a different protein each day: pork sausages one day, bacon the next, and sausage links another. Coffee was good too, made to order by machine. All in all, it was a great visit!

Percy got us checked in quickly and was extremely friendly and professional. We arrived fairly early on a Sunday, and the hotel was quiet and clean. The room was very nice too.

Staff were really friendly and professional, and I have no complaints about the stay. The room was clean and fairly modern. There’s a pool and jacuzzi, several restaurants and stores nearby, plus a small business center, gym, and breakfast in the morning. I think breakfast runs from 6 to 9, but don’t quote me on the times. The only thing that might bother some people is the carpet, which had several stains. It had been vacuumed, but could use a steam clean. They also said there’s an option to pay a pet deposit. Let’s hope the stains weren’t from that.

The General Manager was hands-on, helping out from breakfast to the front desk. I saw him each of the three days I was there, and he was always working. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The pool was open during our stay, and the hotel worked well for what we needed. I would’ve liked a bathtub, though I didn’t ask about one. This will be our hotel when we’re back in town.
