Quality Inn & Suites Minden

We picked this place for its location, price, and the lack of other options. Check-in was professional, but there’s no breakfast. The pool was drained and filthy, and plywood blocking off the stairs to the upper units felt creepy. Our first room smelled terrible, and the sheets didn’t seem clean. On the second night we changed rooms and asked for clean sheets, and it was much better. It might do in a pinch, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you have another choice.

The floors were dirty and the bed was small. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The mattress was firm, which is the only reason I gave it one star.

The hotel needs serious repairs. Parts of the siding, gutters, and molding or fascia are missing or falling off. My room was extremely dirty, with ants on the floor that ended up in the bed by morning. The floor was sticky, so bring flip-flops or slippers. There were cut whiskers all over the sink from a previous guest, long hairs in the sheets, and no chairs in the room. I could go on. Spend the money and stay elsewhere.

I canceled my reservation just in time after reading recent reviews, and I’m glad I did. We stayed elsewhere, then drove past to check the place out. Seeing the whole building confirmed our decision: it was run down, with boarded-up stairwells, and looked condemned. I can only assume the other terrible reviews are accurate. The parking lot didn’t have a single vehicle, and the website photos must be at least ten years old.
