The lake views are great, the staff are friendly, and the location is excellent, though you do hear some highway noise. Still, I wouldn’t book a lower level room again. Ours was down two flights of stairs with no elevator, which was manageable for me without luggage but a pain when carrying bags. It felt like being in a basement, and the views didn’t make up for it. The room was dated and needs freshening up. The decorative pillows were cute but just got in my way. The spring mattress creaked, my hips hurt, and I kept getting up, so I didn’t sleep enough. Breakfast was pitiful and had to be taken back to the room. We made the only hot item, waffles, but they were ice cold by the time we got there. I’d stay again only if I could get a parking lot level room.

We came from out of town for a family Christmas and stayed at the points. The room was gorgeous, and the holiday decorations made the place feel even more like home. The property is beautiful, and the service was hands down the best experience ever. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. Thank you for such a great stay.

I’ve been coming to The Pointe since it was built in the 80s, as an owner, and have always enjoyed my time there. The grounds are well maintained, the lake is lovely, and the staff have always been great. The recent management change brought a strange policy: just 3 rolls of toilet paper per room per week. Who runs a northwoods resort and expects guests to bring their own TP? That little blunder is the only reason I’d give it 4 stars instead of 5. In the Northwoods, “The Pointe” is a beauty, with clear lakes and grand forests. Then comes the odd demand: “Bring your own toilet paper!”

I’ve owned here since the mid nineties and have traveled around the country with RCI, but I still haven’t found a better place than The Pointe. The resort is always well cared for, updated, and staffed by terrific people.
