The shower and beds were okay, but the rest of the room was in rough shape. Both bedside lamps were broken, wallpaper was peeling, and there was caked-on dirt and cobwebs in the corners. The towel rack was coming out of the wall, and the bathroom had no vent fan. I didn’t see any breakfast offered, though maybe I missed it in the listing.

I’ve stayed here a few times, with and without my dogs, and haven’t had problems with the service, location, or price. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, though they could use some updating. I understand renovations can raise rates, but a little work would help. New flooring in particular could make a big difference, since it may be holding the odors people complain about.

The room was okay, and the staff were nice and apologized, but it needed a thorough clean around the edges, including in the bathroom. The fridge was clean. The coffee maker was awful, though: an old, moldy filter was left inside and smelled terrible.

The water pressure was good and the hot water worked, and there were plenty of quality pillows. That was about all I liked. We paid almost $200 CAD during the State Fair, and the room was cold enough at first that we could see our breath; we figured out the A/C and got it comfortable enough to sleep. The surfaces hadn’t been cleaned or dusted in a while, there was a used towel behind the bathroom door, and the tissue dispenser was empty. We had to call down for toilet paper, and there was no soap or shampoo. The fridge and drawers were dirty, with crumbs in the drawers and on the floor by the fridge. On arrival, my husband also had to go back to get the key fixed because it didn’t work for our room. The door was hard to open because the security latch was loose and caught on it. Once inside, the lock wouldn’t lock, so we hoped the latch might keep us safe, but weren’t confident it would.
