I booked the room, then immediately regretted it and asked for a refund before even seeing it. I’d felt uncomfortable as soon as I came in: people sitting around looked homeless, and the marijuana smell was overwhelming. They said the refund had been processed and would take 7-10 business days. That was November 8, and it’s now November 28, with no money back. I tried calling, but the number has conveniently been disconnected. I live two hours away, so going there to find out what’s happening isn’t easy. I’d be irate to make the trip just to get my money back, though it feels like that may be what I have to do.

The room was filthy: the beds were dirty, the floor was grimy, and the tub had dirt and a drain full of garbage. The TV was already on, and there were homeless people outside, while a man kept looking at my car. Alone, I felt very nervous. Before seeing the room, I’d waited 20-30 minutes to check in; the number left for check-in calls went unanswered until a man finally showed up. He walked me to the room and opened the door, which felt creepy. I went back to the front desk for a refund and waited half an hour, but nobody came, so I left for another hotel in a nicer part of town. I called the next day to complain and ask for my money back. A woman said he wasn’t supposed to rent out that room, and that she’d talk to the manager and call me. It’s been a week with no word. I was also made to listen to him talk about calling the police because people who weren’t supposed to be there wouldn’t leave or listen to him. They need to be shut down. I’ll be writing a letter.

There was no one at the front desk when I arrived, so I waited 20 minutes. Then I learned my reservation had been canceled and had to book again. After I got my key and went to work, it wouldn’t work when I came back. Nobody was at the desk, and they wouldn’t answer the phone either. Not impressed.

I came here after being evicted from my previous place, with very little money left and nowhere else to go. I was dreading the stay because of past experiences more than 10 years ago, and I’d heard the hotel hadn’t changed much. The prices seemed good for an economy hotel, but the place turned out nothing like I expected. The lighting was bright, the women working here were delightful, and the room was clean. I used to be a hotel head housekeeper, have stayed in lots of hotels, and have seen plenty of rooms that weren’t clean. My standards are very high, so I was genuinely surprised. The staff were awesome, and I’m thankful for a great stay! Not much to complain about, except there should be breakfast again. Biscuits and gravy would be great.

The housekeeping crew deserves a raise. They go out of their way to keep the place spotless, and the staff are amazing. The secure entrances helped me feel safe, and they’re maintained to stay secure. The general manager, Becky, knows the hotel business and runs the day-to-day operations professionally. It’s a great place to stay at a good price. Thanks for a much-appreciated stay!
