The elevator was quick, and parking was easy since it wasn’t peak season. From the balcony one morning, I saw a neighborhood resident park her white Buick SUV in the back lot, take vodka from the back, and make a drink before 8 am. I’m sure she’d say she was walking her dog. She hid the vodka under her tire cover and drove off. She has a problem. The room was clean and the view was great, but the toilet was a squatty potty from 1981. It took three flushes, and sometimes kept running unless you lifted the handle. A new toilet would fix it. The bed felt like concrete blocks under sheets, and the pillows were just as hard.
The staff helped accommodate my family during our stay, which I appreciated. The room was very outdated and needed renovations, though, so I don’t think I’ll book again anytime soon.
The location and beach access were highlights, and we enjoyed the golf cart rides and the convenient tunnel. But the hot tub, one of the reasons we chose the property, didn’t work and felt like a warm bath. The pools weren’t heated as advertised, or maybe something wasn’t working properly. We reported it, and the front desk said they’d filed a ticket with the HOA. That left me wondering whether the chemical levels were being maintained properly. The condo was okay, but the TVs were small, had only one channel, and weren’t smart TVs, so they were basically useless. We checked out the night before leaving. At the welcome center, a man who apparently worked there in maintenance asked us for a ride to get gas. It was dark, around 8:30 pm, and felt a little sketchy. We figured if he really worked there, a coworker would take him. Employees around the resort also didn’t seem to know what was offered. It’s a huge campus, and some general guest service training would help.
It was okay, but not worth what we paid. The place is a bit dated, and the room cleaning wasn’t great, so check the sheets, bathroom, and toilet. They also put a $300 hold on the card, which felt like a lot.
Water features throughout the property add a lot to the scenic atmosphere. It also has luxury amenities.
