We’ve stayed here for three years and keep coming back for the location, with shops, food, Topsail State Park, and plenty to walk around and see nearby. Our fifth-floor room was up at treetop level, with a row of windows, a little table and chairs for meals, and a chair for reading. The kitchen made it easy to keep meals and leftovers, though counter space was limited. It had lots of supplies for martinis or blending drinks, and every small appliance except an air fryer. Trash had to be taken down to a ground-level area, which we never seemed to find. There was an owners’ breakfast one morning that we missed, though we could smell it from our room.

My son made good use of the pools and hot tubs, movie room, and game room, and we even picked a movie from the many Blu-ray options to watch in our room. The coffee deserves a mention too, tasty premium coffee without the jitters. The front desk ladies were great about sharing information on restaurants, events, and activities both at the resort and nearby, with maps and a restaurant list included. There’s also a few BBQ pits by the pool for grilling your own food, which I loved as a barbecue fan. I’ve stayed at Hiltons around the states, and this spot manages to feel peaceful, fun, accommodating, and relaxing all at once. Beautiful view and excellent customer service. I’ll be back soon!

I was excited for the stay, but the confusing policies and staff behavior spoiled it for me. We were told our resort bands covered beach amenities. When we asked for chairs, we were quoted $30. I showed my grey band, expecting the access to be included, and the price suddenly became $60. They said the band only gave a discount off a much higher rate, unlike a blue band. It felt like a bait-and-switch. How does having a resort band make the price double? I accepted the charge quietly and was ready to go ahead, but the beach staff then whispered and laughed about it right in front of me. They even asked my last name just to make fun of it. I told the front desk, but they referred us to the third party responsible. Being mocked by staff while paying for a premium vacation was hurtful. I won’t return.
