Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa

The beach was one of the best we’ve found in the Destin area: wide, with amazing sand, and no ropes and signs boxing you into a tiny stretch or chair vendor set up inches from the water. We wouldn’t stay in western Destin again after that nonsense. We were here for a basketball tournament and really enjoyed the resort. The rooms were very clean, more spacious than other Hiltons and Marriotts, and had an amazing gulf view. The pool and deck were large and fantastic, and the lobby was nicely decorated for the holidays. The location worked well, outside busy, touristy Destin and close to 30a, so we ate our dinners in Grayton, Santa Rosa, and nearby places. Great resort!

We visited over the Christmas holidays, and the decorations gave the stay extra charm. With direct access to miles of Gulf Coast beach, beautiful spacious rooms, and prompt, top-notch service, Hilton Sandestin made for a great family vacation. The bunk beds and roomy setup can fit families of 4-6, including older kids. Heated indoor and outdoor pools kept our kids in the water despite the cold. There are several restaurants and malls nearby, including an outlet mall. We had a great time and can’t wait to return.

We paid for an upgraded suite with a nice layout for a special family trip for my husband’s birthday, which the hotel knew about. They did nothing for the occasion unless I paid extra. The room stayed sauna-hot because it wouldn’t cool down. Technicians came twice, but there was no offer to move us or compensate us, and we slept maybe three hours each night. The mechanical blinds weren’t working because they hadn’t been installed. When I mentioned the room problems at checkout, nothing was offered then either. We most likely won’t stay again.

The setting is gorgeous, and waking up to the water and hearing the waves when you open the door made the trip feel perfect. My husband and I came for the Warrior mini retreat hosted by the Cope family, and it was the epitome of a great vacation. The hotel, staff, and decor were all beautiful and breathtaking. It has a romantic feel, but is also family and pet friendly. Shops and places to eat are centrally located. I highly recommend the San Destin Beach Resort!
