We booked through Booking.com, and although the reviews looked good, I got uneasy after my wife checked the Google reviews on the way there. For this price and location, though, I don’t think you’ll find a better option. Restaurants, coffee shops, fast food, and a gas station are right around it, and Miramar Beach is a five-minute drive away. The room was spacious and practical, with a mini fridge and microwave, and I didn’t notice cleanliness problems. The shower area felt a little tight to me, and could feel smaller if you’re on the heavier side. Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Breakfast was satisfying, and we ate at the hotel each morning before heading out. There’s a 24-hour coffee machine too, and its coffee was surprisingly good. Our routine was breakfast, a swim at the beautiful beach, a rest or drink back at the hotel during the midday heat, then back to the beach for sunset. It’s a good affordable base for the beach and exploring around. Most likely we’ll return next year.

The location was great and the beach isn’t far. The room was nice, clean, and had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was okay, and the pool area was alright too. Manager Maureen was super nice and cool.

We’re a family of six, with four kids, and cleanliness and atmosphere matter to us. This hotel had both, plus more. We hesitated because of some Google reviews, but my wife saw the good ones on Booking.com, so we gave it a chance. The rooms and staff were exceptional, and Maureen and Brittany were great. There’s a Dunkin Donut right outside the front door, too. We’d definitely stay here again.

As soon as I walked in, it was clear which bed the last guest had used, and they had long hair. The counters and tabletops had NOT been wiped down. There’s no excuse for that on a Tuesday outside tourist season. I’m a platinum elite member, and this was unacceptable. I had to spray and wipe down the whole place myself. There was even hair on the shower wall.

We came as a family with two kids and stayed Tuesday, June 24 to Saturday, June 28 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Destin Miramar Beach by IHG. We’d been a little worried by some Google reviews, but didn’t run into the problems they described. We did have an issue with our room, and the front desk quickly moved us from room 202 to room 101. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good, and the pool was great for the kids. Its central location made it easy to get around, and Destin Beach is just a short drive away. Housekeeping cleaned daily when we requested it. Mrs. Nicole at the front desk was especially kind and helpful. When we said we were new to the area and asked for ideas, she printed a list of places to visit the next day. We didn’t find anything negative to say about the hotel.
