Lasata 07 Spectacular Stay in Sandestin!

The property and its location are beautiful, and the surrounding area is upscale, clean, and very convenient. Still, management problems made this a disappointing stay. We were told a chiller had recently been replaced, causing blockages in some units, including ours, and leaving many guests without AC. A technician was supposed to come by, but this should have been sorted out before we arrived. Better communication between the facility and condo owner could have avoided HVAC work during our stay, and especially being woken at 3 a.m. to let the technician into the unit. On departure day, our car battery unexpectedly died. Resort security and maintenance said they had jumper cables but weren't authorized to use them, so we called a tow company and paid $55 just to get a jump. The service itself was excellent, but we waited over an hour, putting off our 8+ hour drive home until after 11 a.m. A simple waiver for the cables would have prevented that delay. The resort is stunning, but the poor coordination and inflexible policies showed little regard for our time and comfort. Those problems took away from what could have been a five-star stay.

The room and location were nice, and I’m still very happy with the area. I was disappointed that the pool access didn’t match what Airbnb advertised. There’s only one pool you can use, the one nearest the hotel. Update: the host has since changed the original listing about the pools.
